MAIN CONCERT STAGE
 
HARRY ANDERSON (USA)
FRIDAY AUGUST 15, 8 P.M.
 
NIGHT COURT’S Harry Anderson was a street magician before becoming an actor. He is famous for the role of Judge Harry Stone on the 1984-1992 television series Night Court. In addition to eight appearances on Saturday Night Live between 1981 and 1985, Anderson had a recurring guest role as con man "Harry the Hat" on Cheers, toured extensively as a magician, and did several magic/comedy shows for broadcast, including Harry Anderson's Sideshow (1987). Anderson starred in the 1985 Tales from the Darkside episode 'All a Clone by the Telephone'.

Anderson officially opens the CAPITAL MAGIC FESTIVAL by performing and hosting a variety of magical acts to give everyone a taste of the entire Festival.

James will amuse and amaze you with his latest collection of impossible escapes.  From the days of the Great Houdini, audiences have been fascinated by death defying escapes. On occasion they have witnessed tragedy as the performer failed to achieve his objective on time. His style of magic is in the realm of "psychic entertainment" And in his show he encourages guests to “share  thoughts” with one another, rather than merely to demonstrate HIS own apparent abilities.  Its interactive fun and mind-blowing at the same time... An entertainer with an outrageous sense of humor, Dick has appeared on numerous television shows and commercials, in major international clubs, and in many corporate events around the world. Dick performs his variety act incorporating M.C., comedy, illusion and tons of audience participation, while keeping everyone in stitches. Jeff Hill comes to the Capital Magic Festival for the first time with a show rich in decibels, flames, sleight of hand and a very high level of cool! This high energy family performance has logged a lot of air miles across Canada and around the world. Jeff brings showmanship and total entertainment in the tradition of your favorite classic rock and roll concerts - lots of music, fire, magic and wicked, back twisting escapes! KNOTTY BITS    ( MICHIGAN )

The Knotty Bits Sideshow is the creation of two very unusual performers- Sylver Fyre and Gwydion.  Together they really know how to turn heads and make children run screaming for their mothers.  From walking on broken glass to pushing an 8-inch spike through an unpierced tongue this is not a show for the faint hearted.  Parental supervision is highly recommended for this one.

MARIO CHOINIÈRE    (MONTREAL)

From Montreal, Mario is the classic elegant magician who can make canes, masks and birds appear and disappear at will. He has performed across Canada, in Singapore, Las Vegas, New York and Bermuda. You will be astounded by this flawless multi-award winning routine, and his final production of a huge white duck will leave you speechless! Born and raised in Ottawa, Michael presents a modern, new age style of magic. He has amazed audiences all over Eastern Canada and has become one of magic's brightest rising stars. Children will love Steve’s magic. Originally from South Africa Steve’s genuine enthusiasm is the magic that puts a smile on all the faces.

An Ottawa native, Eric has been perfecting his skills for 18 years. His magical exploits have delivered him around the world where he has delighted people of all ages. Eric will be flashing the fastest hands in Canada at the Capital Magic Festival’s CLOSE-UP MAGIC THEATRE 2 times daily.
