 Hailing from Dartmouth, NS, Matt Mays & El Torpedo released its self titled album on Sonic Records, Tuesday, March 29. Produced with Grammy award winner Don Smith (Tom Petty, U2, Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, and Cracker), the album was recorded at The Sonic Temple and Ultramagnetic Recording in Halifax, NS.
The album features fourteen new Matt Mays songs and includes guest appearances by Kathleen Edwards ("The Plan"), Kate Maki ("Cocaine Cowgirl" and "St. George's Lane") and Dale Murray ("Good People").
Released to rock radio in mid-February, the first single "Cocaine Cowgirl" is making a big impact. In its first week out, the track was the #1 most added rock song in Canada and is already in the top 10 (BDS ROCK Chart).
The group has been performing nationally over the past two years with Sam Roberts, the Waking Eyes, the Trews, Billy Bragg, Nathan Wiley, Kathleen Edwards and the Rheostatics and was touring with Blue Rodeo until June.
